Knights of Columbus Council 1489 - Rapid City, SD

We are the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Council 1489. We are the council for The Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, located in Rapid City, SD.

The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 by a 29-year-old parish priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, in the basement of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Connecticut. Today, more than a century later, the Knights of Columbus has become the largest lay organization in the Catholic Church.

Our Council Grand Knight

Brother Knights,

I am honored to be the Grand Knight for Council 1489. Those who have come before me know the great challenge that I have. I depend on your wise guidance and help.

I believe a great council continues to flourish when great brothers are drawn together for the purpose of promoting good, strong, and honest Catholic ideals. I value our membership as those kinds of men.

Vivat Jesus, James Jackson
